The Lake District
Painters have always been drawn to the drama and beauty of the Lake District – though my early interest was more related to climbing crags rather than examining the wider landscape. However, I can no longer ignore the subject, although my deep down interest still lies in the steep rocky crags, inaccessible pinnacles and spartan slabs of the mountains.

Recent paintings have focussed on individual crags and areas where I have some experience. The subjects are viewed in a more selected and intimate way. Rock, snow and ice, my sort of landscape.
